This policy explains how Osborne Private Hire handles the information you provide when making a journey enquiry.

Who is responsible for your information?

Osborne Private Hire is a sole trader business operated by Ben in Kings Hill, Kent. Osborne Private Hire is the data controller for information collected through this website.

What information is collected?

The booking form collects the lead passenger’s first and last name, email address, phone number, pickup and destination details, requested travel date and time, passenger number and any optional journey information you choose to provide.

Why is it used?

Your information is used to review your request, provide a price, confirm availability, communicate with you and, if you proceed, arrange the journey. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and, where a booking proceeds, performing that contract.

Where is it stored and shared?

Enquiries are stored in a Neon-hosted Postgres database. A concise notification containing the enquiry details is sent privately to Osborne Private Hire through Discord. The website is hosted by Vercel. These service providers process information on behalf of Osborne Private Hire and may process it outside the UK under their applicable data protection safeguards.

Your information is not sold. It will only be shared where needed to provide the service, comply with the law or protect legal rights.

Address suggestions

When address search is available, the address text you type is sent to Google Maps to suggest UK addresses and places. You can also type your full address without selecting a suggestion. Search text is not stored by our address search service. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Maps Terms of Service. Use of address suggestions is subject to those terms.

A one-way connection fingerprint and short-lived request counts are used to protect address search from misuse. Expired counts are removed after a day when the service next handles a search. This website does not take payment or card details.

How long is it kept?

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for no longer than 12 months after the last contact. Where a booking proceeds, information needed for accounting, tax or legal records may be kept for up to six years after the relevant financial year. Information is then deleted or anonymised unless it must be kept longer for a legal claim or other legal requirement.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, or object to how it is used. To make a request, quote your enquiry reference and email hello@osborneprivatehire.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Website data

This website does not set advertising cookies or use an analytics service in this version. Basic technical information may be processed by Vercel to deliver and protect the website. A one-way fingerprint derived from the connection address is stored with an enquiry to limit obvious form spam; the original connection address is not stored in the booking table.

This policy may be updated when the service or its providers change. The current version will always be published on this page.
